Hello! I am a Lecturer in the Department of Psychology at the University of British Columbia. I teach courses such as Applied Developmental Psychology, Infancy, Childhood and Adolescence, and Introduction to Psychology.
I also conducted my Ph.D. research at UBC, where I worked primarily with Dr. Janet Werker. My research examined how infants perceive and learn language, and how they perceive the speakers of language. I’ve been particularly interested in the differences between how young learners process native and non-native language, and how this changes across development. I conducted studies using both behavioural (looking time, eye-tracking, response time) and neuroimaging (fNIRS) methodologies.
