Hi there! I am a lecturer in the Department of Psychology and the Vantage One program at the University of British Columbia. I teach courses such as Applied Developmental Psychology and Introduction to Psychology.

I also conducted my Ph.D. research at UBC, where I worked primarily with Janet Werker. My research has examined how infants perceive and learn language, and how they perceive the speakers of language. I’ve been particularly interested in the differences in how young learners process native and non-native language, and how this changes across development. I have conducted studies using both behavioural (looking time, eye-tracking, response time) and neuroimaging (fNIRS) methodologies.

If you have any questions, feel free to contact me at lamay[at]psych.ubc.ca.
